Miracles do happen!

Cabrillo Sewing Center’s “coup” at the recent PVQA Quilt Show was the fabulous collection of Wizard of Oz fabrics that had the booth truly buzzing with activity. Kuby’s plan all along was to debut this fabric at the show, but a week-prior phone call to the vendor returned the bad news that there was “no way” the shipment would arrive in time.

Well, guess what. The fabrics were delivered just a couple of days prior to the show weekend. Apparently, Kuby clicked her heels three times and…

Congratulations to the wonderful Claudia Sammis for winning a Mayor’s Choice award at last weekend’s Pajaro Valley Quilt Show! Claudia, who serves as Marketing Director for Cabrillo Sewing Center, used Cara Gulati’s famed 3-D Explosion techniques to create the winning quilt, Exuberant Scrolls. The below photo shows the masterpiece along with the mayor and his guild hostess.

Cara Gulati has shared her designs on television’s Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson, and she teaches the related workshop nationally. Cara plans to visit Cabrillo Sewing Center to offer it again this summer.
